About HDV Legal

With over 25 years experince in the video industry, HDV Legal is one of a select few of certified legal videographers to utilize multiple Sony High Definition (HD) video cameras in the recording of depositions-to-documentaries for our clients.  We can simultaneously record the HD signal to tape and hard drive, in addition to providing certified duplicates on DVD (MPEG-1 or MPEG-2) or other formats, including VHS.  HDV Legal can provide unmatched clarity in the playback appearance of our wide screen High Definition settlement or day-in-the-life documentary videos for viewing by the plaintiff, defendant, judge, jury or opposing counsel.  Also, by recording to hard drive, we can vastly improve the turn around time for our clients, especially where editing is involved in the case of documentaries, or where the recorded deposition needs to be transferred to a MPEG-1 CD or DVD for its timely incorporation with written transcripts using third party software such as TrialDirector©, CT Summation© or LiveNote©.

HDV Legal can offer our clients uninterrupted recording of video depositions through the use of our unique technology.  This means no more untimely delays to go off the record, change tapes or DVDs and then go back on the record.  HDV Legal wants to maximize our clients' available time, as well as that of the deponent.

HDV Legal can provide our clients with custom engineered 3D animation of recreations of accidents.

Archival Grade Optical Media

For forensic videos which will be stored for an extended period before it is actually utilized or reviewed, such as the case with prenuptial agreements and wills, HDV Legal utilizes only archival grade optical media, such as CDs and DVDs.  The 24k gold over-layer of this product maximizes the life of the media to over 100+ years by preventing any corrosion of the encapsulated silver under-layer.  The silver under-layer enhances laser reflectivity enabling broad read and write compatibility.  An ultra hard coat recording surface is 100 times harder than the disc itself.  This protects the data and ensures playability by guarding against the ravages of gouges, sctatches, fingerprints and dust.

With Archival Grade optical media, HDV Legal protects you and your client's investment as if it were a priceless treasured heirloom.

Simultaneous Recording to Hard Drive

HDV Legal will not only record our client's video to Sony Digital Master HDV media, but also to our 80 GB portable hard drives.  Sony's Digital Master media is the highest quality professional high definition video recording media on the maket today.  It is not a consumer grade product and is selectively sold only by qualified Sony distributors and dealers in the world.  As only the best will do, we rely 100% on Sony's product and their attention to quality.

For hard drive recording, HDV Legal utilizes two Focus Enhancements FS-4HD Pro 80 GB DTEs.  With these units, up to nine hours of high definition video can be recorded and then immediately downloaded for editing or rendering to a different format, such as MPEG-1 for use with our client's trial preparation or synchronization software.
